JD(S) demands waiver of farmers' loans
Mumbai, Apr 13 (UNI) The Janata Dal (S) today demanded that the State government should immediately waive loans of farmers exceeding one lakh rupees.
In a statement today, the party said that the state government should initiate steps to provide farmers loans at four per cent from the next crop season. The party also plans to protest starting from May 1, if the government failed to comply to their demand.
It further, said that some 435 farmers were forced to commit suicide in the State till date on account of poverty and financial problems.
