HC stays summoning of Ratan Tata in a criminal case
Allahabad, Apr 13 (UNI) The Allahabad High Court today stayed the July 27, 2005 order of Special Chief Judicial Magistrate, Kanpur summoning non Executive Chairman of Tata Tele Services Ratan Tata to face trial in a criminal complaint.
Justice V K Chaturvedi, hearing the criminal revision application filed by the Tata Tele Services Limited, New Delhi through non Executive Chairman Ratan Tata passed the stay order.
The Kanpur Judge had passed the order on a criminal complaint filed by J P Telecommunications, where it was alleged by the complainant that his company had been cheated by the Tata Group company to the tune of several lakhs of rupees.
Mr Tata was made an accused in the case.
