Mumbai, Apr 13 (UNI) An Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) court today extended the judicial custody of suspended 'encounter specialist' Daya Nayak, arrested in the disproportionate assets case, till April 20.

Nayak was produced before ACB Judge S P Mahajan where the prosecution sought his custody further.

The suspended police sub-inspector, who is lodged in the Bhoiwada police lock-up for security reasons, had yesterday filed a bail plea in the Bombay High Court which will come up for hearing on April 19.

Earlier, the ACB had registered a case against him on January 20 for amassing wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income.

His wife Komal and associates Rajendera Padte and P Manivelan had also been booked in the case.

However, Komal was granted anticipatory bail, while Manivelan and Padte secured bail from the Bombay High Court on technical ground, since the investigating agency could not file chargesheet against them within the stipulated 60 days.

The ACB claimed to have detected assets worth Rs 41.75 lakh during a raid on January 20 at Nayak's house.
