Recently Nizamabad Lok Sabha member Madhu Yashki Goud also tried to visit the project site and was prevented by the local people and police.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy would be meeting Prime Minister Manmohan Singh tomorrow at Delhi and would hand over a letter seeking his intervention to ensure the project works were stopped.
The government had lodged protest with the Centre alleging the project was being illegally constructed by the Maharashtra government.
Following this, the Union Government called a meeting on April 4 where it was agreed that the project work must be stopped until a technical committee with experts of both the states as well as the Centre went into the facts of the case.
However, Dr Reddy claimed that instead of halting the project work, the Maharashtra Government had stepped up the pace of the construction.
