Newly formed BJFB fields candidates before assembly polls
Purulia, Apr 12 (UNI) The newly formed Bharatiya Janabadi Forward Bloc (BJFB) has fielded two candidates from this West Bengal district for the coming assembly polls.
Addressing mediapersons here today, party spokesman Mritunjoy Mahato said he was contesting from Jaipur Assembly constituency and Ms Madhumita Mahato from Jhalda.
Elections in Purulia would be held in the first phase on April 17.
Originally in the parent body Forward Bloc, he said they were denied party tickets.
Former Rajya Sabha member Jayanta Ray, MLA Amar Pradhan and former state Food Minister Kalimuddin Shams have also joined the party.
Former minister Satya Ranjan Mahato formed the party last September. After his death, party president Bibhuti Singh took over charge.
