Medicines to have names in Hindi, MRP to include taxes from Apr 15
New Delhi, Apr 12 (UNI) Come April 15 and drug manufacturers all over the country will have to print the maximum retail price (MRP) inclusive of local taxes on every medicine and also ensure that its name is printed in Hindi.
In a far-reaching move to help the common man, Union Chemicals and Fertilizer Minister Ram Vilas Paswan today said the government has directed drug manufacturers to ensure that the MRP of each drug was inclusive of local taxes and the name of the medicine was also printed in Hindi.
Talking to senior UNI journalists at the news agency's headquarters here, he said his ministry had issued the directive as it realised that the benefit of the reduction in the cost of drug prices was not reaching the consumer.
