India, Russia sign mutual legal assistance treaty
Moscow, Apr 12 (UNI) Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Alexeyev and Indian ambassador to Russia, Kanwal Sibal exchanged the instruments of ratification of the Indo-Russian Treaty on Mutual Legal Assistance and Legal Relations Concerning civil and commercial matters.
It was noted at a ceremony yesterday that the Treaty would be an important new element of the legal basis of bilateral cooperation and boost further strengthening of mutually advantageous business ties and humanitarian contacts between the two countries, Russian Foreign Ministry said in a release.
The Treaty which was signed on October 3, 2000, in New Delhi, entered into force from the date of the present exchange, in accordance with its Article 31.
