HC asks for criminal history of 13 lawyers in contempt case

Lucknow, Apr 12 (UNI) The Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court today ordered that the criminal history of 13 lawyers be produced in the court in a contempt of court case, the next hearing in which has been fixed for April 18.

Taking suo motu notice of criminal acts by certain lawyers in subordinate courts, a division bench of the HC comprising Justices O P Srivastava and Shailendra Saxena had recently issued the contempt of court notices to 13 lawyers and prohibited their entry in the court premises.

Meanwhile, Director General of Uttar Pradesh Police Bua Singh, DM Lucknow R N Tripathi and SSP Lucknow Ashutosh Pandey appeared before the court today in pursuance with the court directive to do so.
