General strike called to protest kidnapping

Imphal, Apr 12: The Joint Action Committee (JAC) against kidnapping of police officer N.Kumar by some unknown miscreants, today called a 24-hour bandh starting from 5 pm.

Posted at Tamenglong, N.Kumar, had been missing after coming home from duty.

Most militant groups said they were not involved in kidnapping of Mr Kumar.

Meanwhile, tension prevailed in Ukhrul road at Imphal as the Joint Action Committee against the killing of Ingotomba, blocked the roads today.

Irom Ingotomba of Pungdongbam Makha Leikai in Imphal East was found dead last Monday.

He was shot dead by some unknown miscreants.
