FUWS slams Zoramthanga on Mizoram-Assam border dispute
Aizawl, Apr 12 (UNI) The Former Underground Welfare Association (FUWS) today accused Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga of not taking proper action on the Mizoram-Assam border dispute issue.
The FUWS said a resolution was passed in the last assembly budget session by the state government to solve border disputes with the neighbouring states.
Expressing dissapointment over the Chief Minister's recent statement in the Assembly that border disputes could not be solved through Chief Minister-level talks but was under the purview of Parliament, the FUWS said, ''The witdrawal of police from Lailapur (Mizoram-Assam border) check-gate soon after the conclusion of the assembly session was upsetting''.
''If the state government refuses to take steps to solve the Mizoram-Assam border dispute, we will call the Chief Minister a traitor,'' the FUWS said.
