Factory owner among three killed in accident

Jalandhar, Apr 12 (UNI) Goraya Nagar Council vice-chairman and owner of an iron foundry Rajinder Singh and two labourers of his factory were killed while six others injured in a bid to rescue a labourer who accidentally fell into the factory's furnace in Goraya town, about 40 km from here.

A Police spokesman here said a labourer was doing a repairing work atop the furnace when he accidentally fell into it.

In an effort to rescue the labourer, Mr Singh along with Chud Singh and Santokh Singh were badly burnt and died later.

Six other labourers were also injured and rushed to Ludhiana for treatment.

However, the labourer, who accidentally fell in furnace, was saved in the process.
