Cyprus welcomes Indo-US Nuke deal, supports India's UN bid
New Delhi, Apr 12 (UNI) Cyprus today welcomed the Indo-US Civilian Nuclear Energy agreement and supported India's bid for permanent membership of the UN Security Council as both countries finalised an agreement on combating terrorism, drug trafficking and organised crimes.
Cyprus, an important member of the Nuclear Suppliers' Group (NSG) whose support is crucial for the implementation of the Indo-US nuclear deal, also supported India's efforts for promotion of full civilian nuclear energy cooperation.
Both sides agreed that such cooperation was welcome in addressing concerns relating to global energy security and environmental protection.
India also reaffirmed support XXX picking up fourth para of DI 68, External--Lead India-Cyprus.
