ACC Q4 profit up by 42 pc to Rs 235.48 crore

Mumbai, Apr 12 (UNI) Cement major Associated Cement Companies Ltd (ACC) has registered a profit of more than 42 per cent at Rs 235.48 crore for the fourth quarter (Q4) ended on March 31 this year, the company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange today.

The company has posted a profit after provision for taxation and exceptional item of Rs 235.48 crore for the quarter ended March 31, as against Rs 165.52 crore for the same quarter in the previous fiscal.

The company's total income was Rs 1,381.22 crore for the quarter ended March 31, as compred to Rs 1,155,02 crore for the same quarter in the previous fiscal.

''The results of quarter ended on March 31 includes figures of erstwhile Bargarh Cement Ltd and Damodhar Cement&Slag Ltd, which were merged with the company with effect from April one, 2005,'' a ACC release said.

''The company has divested its refractory business as of September 30, 2005. Accordingly, the results for the quarter ended March 31, 2005, are not comparable,'' the release added.
