Pejawar mutt seer donates Rs 15 lakh for TN tsunami victims

Mysore, Apr 11 (UNI) Sri Viswesha Thirtha Swamiji of Pejawar mutt has donated Rs 15 lakh towards the cost of building houses for tsunami victims in the second stage of the Mysore colony at Mudaliarkuppam in Tamil Nadu by the Mysore Citizens Forum (MCF).

A MCF release here today said the cheque for the amount was presented by the seer to Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji of Suttur mutt in Bangalore recently as part of his 75th birthday celebrations.

The Rotary Club of Moolki also donated Rs three lakh on the same day. Mahajana Education Society President R Vasudeva Murthy presented a cheque for Rs one lakh to the swamiji as additional contribution to the already donated over Rs six lakh, MCF said.

It may be recalled here that 92 houses have been constructed in Mudaliarkuppam by MCF in the first stage and distributed to the victims on February 11 this year.
