Naxals open fire at police station in AP village
Ongole (Andhra Pradesh), Apr 11: A group of naxals opened fire at Yerragondlapalem Police Station in Prakasham district last night.
According to sources, the naxals fired three rounds at the police station. However, they could not inflict much damage and there were no casualties.
The presence of several CRPF jawans at the police station proved advantageous to the police as they repulsed the attack forcing the naxals to retreat.
Police reinforcements were rushed to the spot from Markapuram-Nagarjuna Sagar Road in the dense Nallamala forest area.
