National floral galleria to be held in Kohima

Kohima, Apr 11: Nagaland government will organise a national-level 'floral galleria' from April 20 to celebrate 2006 as the 'year of the farmers.' Official sources said here today that the galleria would bring out the tradition of the state. Flower exhibitions-cum-competition would be organised.

The department would showcase rich indigenous floral wealth of the state by exhibiting orchids, anthuriums, dry and fresh flower, ferns and foliages.

The three-day event would host various seminars, workshops, buyer-seller meets and live floral demonstrations.

Floriculture experts from abroad and India like S Jaffer Naqvi from Norway, Bangalore based company Florance Fauna Managing Director S K Gutgutia would also participate in the programme.

Entrepreneurs would be selling select plants, cut-flowers, tools, manure, fertilizers and chemicals through temporary outlets at the event.

A horti-clinic, firsdt of its kind in the region, would also be opened to meet inquiries and problems of the farmers.
