Municipal vice-chairman among seven held in prostitution

Karimnagar, Apr 11 (UNI) The Karimnagar district conducted a raid on a brothel and arrested Sircilla Municipality Vice Chairman G Parashuramulu, Corporator Chakarpani, student leader Murali, Sircilla Town President Kanakaiah and three others in a prostitution case today.

Police said the accused were running the brothel in Karimnagar Housing Board Colony under guise of a legal trading business. The local residents who noticed that prostitution was going on alerted the police officials.

A police team conducted a raid last night and picked up Parashuramulu, Chakrapani, Murali, Kanakaiah, two sex workers aged 30 and 19 both native of Hyderabad, and one customer Sridhar. They were arrested today and sent to judicial remand.

The Karimnagar One town police suspect that the accused were bringing women from Hyderabad for running the brothel.
