Georgia Institute of Technology keen on starting India campus
Mumbai, Apr 11 (UNI) Georgia institute of Technology, USA, has shown keen interest in starting its international branch in India.
An institute delegation recently toured prospective sites at Hinjewadi in Pune and Patalganga in Alibaug. The delegation met Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh here today.
Mr Deshmukh assured the delegation all assistance in starting the branch. The delegation was informed about the large number of technical institutions in the state which produce nearly 50,000 engineers every year.
State Finance Minister Jayant Patil and State Chief Secretary D K Sankaran were also present at the meeting.
Mr Deshmukh has urged the institute to start its international campus in Maharashtra saying it is a progressive state with all infrastructural facilities.
Mr Deshmukh had visited the institute last year during his visit to the USA.
