Trader robbed of Rs 5 lakh, criminal killed

Mainpuri, Apr 10 (UNI) Armed miscreants today robbed a city trader of Rs 5 lakh under Kotwali area here, police today said.

However, one of the assailants was later shot dead by supporters of the victim.

Police said the incident occurred around 1400 hrs when three motorcycle-borne assailants intercepted a hardwar trader, Sri Prakash Tiwari.

The trio snatched the bag containing Rs five lakh from Tiwari and tried to escape towards Haridarshan Colony.

However, fellow traders chased them and fired on them. In the cross firing, one of the robbers was killed. He is yet to be identified.
