TMC (Moopanar) member joins Congress

Pondicherry, Apr 10 (UNI) Tamil Manila Congress (Moopanar) party President Theni C Jayakumar, along with his supporters today joined the Congress in the presence of several Congress functionaries at the PCC(I) office here.

The TMC (Moopanar) won two constituencies in the last elections.

After the dissolution of the party in Tamil Nadu, one of the winners-- Mr A Namasivayam-- joined the Congress.

However, Mr Jayakumar continued as a TMC(M) member in the House and became the party president.

Being a sitting member from Villianur constituency, Mr Jayakumar is expected to contest from the same constituency on Congress ticket in the May 3 and 8 Assembly polls.
