Three militants among 4 killed, explosives seized in J

Srinagar, Apr 10 (UNI) Four people, including three militants, were killed while troops seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition in Jammu and Kashmir today, a defence spokesman said.

Troops of 3 Para killed two foreign militants of Talibani group at Sukhnai village in Warvan area of Doda District today during an encounter.

The slain ultras were identified as Mustakin and Commando, both residents of Pakistan, the spokesman said, adding an AK-56 rifle and a pistol were seized from them.

Security forces shot dead a Hizbul Mujahideen ultra, Fayaz Ahmad, after a brief encounter at Ahmadabad village in Kulgam area of south Kashmir's Anantnag district early today, he said.

The encounter erupted after a search party was attacked by the militants, the spokesman added.

Police recovered the body of Sabzar Ahmad Gatoo from Bijbehara in south Kashmir today.

He said security forces seized 400 kg of explosive material, 30 IEDs, 25 detonators, six AK 47 rifles, three UBGL launchers, 20 UBGL grenades, 4 hand grenades, six magazines, one radio set, one gunny bag of Russian primers for IEDs and 300 rounds of AK rifles from the house of Abdul Salam Wani at Lullipora village in Pattan area of north Kashmir during a search operation followed by a tip off.

The house owner was arrested and handed over to Pattan police station, the spokesman said.

He said the information revealed that these arms, ammunition and explosives were brought in recently to cause disruption in the April 24 by-elections in Pattan constituency of Baramulla district.
