Three ATTF rebels surrender with AK-47 and grenade in Tripura
Agartala, Apr 10 (UNI) Altogether three hardcore militants of the outlawed All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF) rebels today surrendered before the Border Security Force (BSF) officials at Teliamura, about 60 km from here.
The three militants also deposited two AK-47 rifles, 6 magazines, 149 rounds of AK-47 bullets and a Chinese grenade, which they had been carrying with them.
BSF Inspector General Suresh Dutta told UNI that the militants fled from the ATTF camp at Sachchai in Bangladesh following difference of opinion and growing discontent among the rank and file of the rebel group.
'' It's now clear that both the outlawed outfits, the ATTF and the NLFT, are breaking. There is growing discontent among the rank and file because of the living style of the leaders of the two outfits. Being demoralised and frustrated many of the militants are fleeing their training camps in Bangladesh and surrendering before the security forces, '' Mr Dutta said.
The three, who surrendered and laid down their arms, were identified as Dhankumar Jamatia, Anish Kumar Jamatia and Deepak Debbarma.
