Taiwanese tourist cremated in Kashmir
Srinagar, Apr 10 (UNI) Huang Sui Chin, a Taiwanese tourist whose highly decomposed body was recovered from Nigeen Lake on Saturday after she had gone missing on March 22, was cremated here today.
The cremation took place after her husband Liu Ching Feo along with his daughter Chiu Shu Yu and her friend Kao Wei arrived here this morning.
Huang's another daughter Liu Tsao Lin, who identified her mother's body, and her friend Chen Hsin Chi had arrived here on Saturday morning and were waiting for cremation to take place.
A three-member team from the Chinese Embassy in New Delhi besides senior police officials, including Superintendent of Tourist Police M S Punnu, were present at the cremation grounds in Karan Nagar area here.
The officials -- Jiang Bi, First Secretary (Consular) and Sheng Fengxue, Second Secretary (Consular) from the Chinese Embassy in New Delhi besides Elliot Y L Charng, Deputy Representative Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre in New Delhi -- had arrived here last evening to facilitate Huang's cremation in Kashmir.
Earlier, Huang's husband and daughters along with their friends went to Nigeen Lake to offer prayers at the site where her body was recovered on April 8.
Huang's another daughter Resenda Chin and friend Joseph had arrived here on April one to trace her mother, but left for Taiwan on April 7, a day before her mother's body was found.
