Shanmugham leaves for Delhi to get AICC nod for second list

Pondicherry, Apr 10 (UNI) Pondicherry Pradesh Congress Committee President P Shanmugham today left for New Delhi to get the AICC approval for the party's second list of candidates.

The party, which had inked a pact with the DMK to fight the assembly elections here, had yesterday announced its candidates for the first phase elections.

While sitting members E Valsaraj(Mahe) and A V Sreedharan (Palloor) were renominated, the party also accommodated the sitting Independent member from Yanam constituency Malladi Krishna Rao, who joined the Congress last week to contest from the same constituency.
