Seven regional health offices sanctioned
Bhopal, Apr 10 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Government today accorded sanction for setting up regional health services offices in seven districts.
The decision -- aimed at expanding health services in the state -- was taken during cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan here today.
The offices of regional director, health services, will be set up in Bhopal, Gwalior, Indore, Jabalpur, Ujjain, Rewa and Sagar, an official release said here today.
The regional directors will be vested with financial and administrative powers equivalent to the director health services.
Besides, posts of different categories were sanctioned for these offices.
The previous government had abolished these offices following introduction of District Government system.
As the system had ceased to exist, it was decided to set up the offices in view of difficulties being faced in implementation of different national programmes.
The cabinet sanctioned posts of District Health Officer, District Family Welfare Officer and Principal Health and Medical Officer for the health and family welfare department.
The expenditure on these posts would be met from the saving of departmental budget.
The cabinet approved the Madhya Pradesh Nirashriton Avam Nirdhan Vyaktiyon Ki Sahayata (Sanshodhan) Adhyadesh, 2006.
The amendment included widows, divorcee women and women subjected to cruelty in the definition of destitute persons under section two of the existing Act.
Besides, in section 3, the word 'loan' has been replaced by 'assistance' and 'specific schemes' to benefit the girls of BPL families.
In section 4, a State Destitute Fund has been provided for, while in section 7, the term Adivasi Panchayat has been deleted.
The cabinet decided to institute Amar Shahid Chandrashekhar Azad National Award -- carrying Rs 1.50 lakh, a citation and a plaque of honour -- to recognise contribuion in promoting ideals of freedom struggle, patriotism and social service.
The cabinet decided to reconstitute the cabinet sub-committee for recommending the setting up of a new revenue administration office for revenue administration under the revenue department.
The sub-committee -- comprising the Cooperatives Minister Gopal Bhargava, Panchayats and Rural Development Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and Revenue Minister Kamal Patel -- will be headed by Women and Child Development Minister Kusum Singh Mehandele.
Principal Secretary (Revenue) would be the convener of sub-committee, which would submit its report in a month.
The cabinet considered different options for running the Malwa Cooperative Sugar Factory Ltd, Barlai, Indore.
The cabinet approved the Governor's report on the administration in scheduled areas for years 2003-04 and 2004-05.
