Rehabilitate kins of deceased militants: Mufti
Jammu, Apr 10 (UNI) The former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today reaffirmed his demand of including kins of the deceased militants into the rehabilitation ambit of the government.
Interacting with mediapersons here after a five-day tour of the border districts of Poonch and Rajouri, he said the coalition government already stood committed to this as per the Common Minimum Programme (CMP).
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) patron quoted the clause-9 of the CMP which read that the Government would reach out to the children, widows and parents of the deceased militants-and make endeavours to provide free education to the militancy affected orphans.
Sharing his observation about the two districts, Mr Mufti said the area had gone under a progressive change where thrust had to be laid on development, speedy completion of the Mughal road and simplifying the procedure for seeking permit system at the meeting points, he added.
Mr Mufti said the area was rich in mineral reserves like coal and limestone which needed to be explored and suggested to devise a special package for inviting investment in the area.
''Special attention is needed to be accorded to motivate industrial captains so that the available resources of the area are utilized properly'', he said adding that this would also help in generating employment avenues for the youth of the two districts.
