Patkar stable, still in CCU at AIIMS

New Delhi, Apr 10 (UNI) The health of Narmada Bachao Andolan (NBA) leader Medha Patkar, presently in the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences here, was today said to be stable.

According to NBA activists, her condition was not deteriorating and was stable.

''Right now she is out of danger,'' said an NBA leader.

There is no need for any 'force-feeding' as she is OK, he added.

Expressing concern over her ''detention'' he said the government should explain why she is being kept at the hospital when she is OK? ''And if she is being kept at the hospital due to health reasons, why are policemen posted there and we are not allowed to meet her?'' he asked.

Meanwhile, NBA leaders today declined to comment on their next step in the wake of the April 9 deadline given by the government to give its report on the visit by the team of ministers to the Sardar Sarovar Dam.
