New facility of Indian Smelting goes on roll

New Delhi, Apr 10: With the commencement of its Rs 65-crore Sanaswadi plant, Indian Smelting is expecting its turnover to rise from Rs 225 crore to Rs 350 crore in the next twelve months, a company release said today.

The third plant at the 20-acre site near Pune is equipped with continous high pressure moulding line from Germany and will increase the company's current casting capacity from 12,000 TPA to 30,000 TPA.

''Our new manufacturing unit, which is a major step in this direction, will provide us with delivery advantage and reduce marketing time,'' Managing Director Athul Singhi said.

While other plants of the company, a part of C K Birla group, produce strips and foils of copper and its alloys, the new facility will manufacture SG Iron/ Ductile Iron Castings.
