Metals prices rose on heavy industrial demand
Mumbai, Apr 10 (UNI) Metal prices rose on heavy industrial demand today along with London Metal Exchange (LME), traders at the metal exchange here said.
In ferrous section : copper heavy and brass cuttings shot up by Rs 700 and Rs 500 per quintal respectively while copper utensils, brass utensils and aluminium utensils rose by Rs 400, Rs 300 and Rs 100 per quintal respectively as sellers were hoarding their stocks.
In non-ferrous section : copper wire bars and zinc slab hiked by Rs 500 and Rs 200 per quintal respectivley on lesser stock supply.
Tin slab and nickel cathode also went up by Rs ten and Rs 20 per kg respectively on increase of fresh demand.
Following were the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy- Rs 29,700, copper utensils- Rs 26,000, brass utensils- Rs 20,500, brass cuttings- Rs 21,500 and aluminium utensils- Rs 10,200.
Non-ferrous metals: copper wire bars- Rs 31,700, aluminium ingots- Rs 13,000, zinc slab- Rs 15,500, lead ingots- Rs 6,400, Tin slab- Rs 450 (per kg) and nickel cathode- Rs 850 (per kg).
