Maharastra CM agrees to stop Babli project: YSR
Hyderabad, Apr 10 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today said Maharastra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh had agreed to stop the Babli project being constructed on Godavari river.
Speaking to reporters here, Dr Reddy, who met Mr Deshmukh when the latter was here to participate in a meeting on farmers' suicides, said the Maharastra government had already stopped work. 'Mr Deshmukh said his government had directed to stop the project', he said, adding difference arose between the states because of misinformation.
Reffering to the meeting on farmers' rehabilitation package, Dr Reddy said the Centre would introduce a new package for farmers, with facilities to get credit and insurance for their produce.
