LET militant's remand extended
Gulbarga, Apr 10 (UNI) The police custody of suspected Lashkar-e-Taiba activist Abdul Rehman alias Sami Ahmed Shah, arrested on March 30 in Gulbarga raiway station, was today extended by another ten days till April 20.
Inspector General of Police (North) G Ramakrishna told UNI here today that the remand was extended by Judicial Magistrate First Class Judge V V Joshi on a request from the Special Investigation Team (SIT).
He said a team of anti-terrorist squad from Maharashtra approached the court, seeking permission to take Abdul Rehman to Mumbai and Ahmedabad for investigations about his activities in those places. The SIT would grill the arrested extremist till April 20 after which the other State's police could go ahead with their inquiry, he added.
