Kyndiah reviews vision NER-2020 progress

New Delhi, Apr 10 (UNI) Minister of Development of North Eastern Region (DONER) P R Kyndiah reviewed progress made so far under Vision NER 2020 at a meeting held here today.

According to official sources, a document indicating goals, strategy and action plan should be prepared on the basis of the views and suggestions received from a cross-section of people of the region.

The document will be prepared with professional expertise supported by relevant data and in consultation with all stake holders including the state governments of the region, central ministries concerned and the Planning Commission, the sources said.

The final draft Vision Document is expected to be discussed in the first half of June this year, the sources added.

The meeting was attended by two members of NEC, Dr (Mrs) I K Barthakur and P P Shrivastava, secretary of Ministry of DONER, Gauri Chatterjee and secretary of NEC, H V Lalringa and officials of the Planning Commission, DONER and North Eastern Region.
