'Kumbhabhishekam' at ancient AP temple
Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, Apr 10 (UNI) About 200 "Ritviks" from different parts of the country today performed "Kumbhabhishekam" (consecration) at the ancient Brahmarambika Mallikarjunaswamy Temple in Srisailam where one of the "Jyothirlingas" has been installed, in a ceremony undertaken once in 100 years.
An 'abishekam' (ritual bath) to Lord Shiva was performed with water from the three oceans surrounding the Indian peninsula and all major rivers.
Thousands of devotees thronged the temple where Maratha Hero Shivaji was believed to have been given a sword by Goddess Durga.
