Katiyar detained en route to Aligarh

Kanpur, Apr 10 (UNI) BJP national general secretary Vinay Katiyar has been detained near Kannauj border en route to Aligarh, party sources said here today.

Mr Katiyar arrived here from Bhubaneswar and after a brief halt left for the trouble torn Aligarh by road. He was taken into custody by Kannauj police on Kanpur Dehat border.

Later, he was taken to a guest house for defying the prohibitory order under section 144 CrPC.

However, Katiyar asserted that he would leave for Aligarh as soon as he was released from detention.

''Nobody can stop me from going to Aligarh,'' he said.
