IIIT to organise seminar on rural empowerment
Allahabad, Apr 10: A three-day national seminar on ''empowering rural India through Information Communication Technology'' will be organised by the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) at its Amethi campus from April 15.
The first-of-its kind seminar in the region will be inaugurated by former Director of All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, Padamshree Dr Sneh Bhargava.
The seminar will cover a host of issues related to rural empowerment in the sphere of education, micro-finance, legal education and marketing and employment, Director and Chief Coordinator of the seminar M D Tiwari said here yesterday.
Besides the seminar, the IIIT plans to set up Gram Gyan Kendra Kiosks in eight selected villages of Amethi and Rae Bareli districts, he added.
