IED blast injures two jawans in Asom

Diphu, Apr 10 (UNI) Two CRPF jawans were injured when suspected KLNLF militants triggered a blast at Mulgaon under Howraghat LAC in Karbi Anglong district, in the second phase of Asom Assembly elections today.

Additional Superintendent of Police Anurag Thanka informed that the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was detonated by the proscribed Karbi Longri Northcachar Liberation Front (KLNLF) militants, who had called for a poll boycott in the district.

Earlier in a pre-poll incident, its cadres had abducted another CRPF jawan near the Lungnite polling station in the early hours today.

In another incident, a teacher, Laitham Borgoyary, of Jainar High School of Singbargaon of Kokrajhar district, was killed in a clash between rival factions.
