Human skulls and bones recovered from tank
Barasat, Apr 10 (UNI) Scores of human skulls and skeletons were recovered from a tank at Amdanga village in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas, police said today.
Workers while renovating a century old tank unearthed at least 20 human skulls and a large number of skeletons.
Incidentally, local police when informed about the recovery of skulls hardly took any interest.
A senior police officer in the headquarters though confirmed such report said the tank existed for more than two centuries and the area was known as a cremation ground.
The discovery of skulls and bones caused much curiosity and panic among the local people. Some people, including Ojhas, even took away some skulls and bones home.
