Holding meetings,demonstrations in CP banned for 60 daysfrom Apr 12
New Delhi, Apr 10 (UNI) The Delhi Police have prohibited the holding of public meetings as well as demonstrations in an around the Connaught Place area for a period of 60 days from April 12.
According to an order issued by the Delhi Police Commissioner K K Paul, assembly of five or more persons, shouting of slogans, making of speeches and carrying out picketing and dharnas has also been banned.
Any person contravening the order will be punishable under section 188 of the Indian Penal Code.
However, religious functions and rallies can be held with prior permission of the Deputy commissioner of police at New Delhi district.
In another order, the Delhi police have prohibited the opening of Paan, cigarette and aerated water shops in the entire national capital Territory of Delhi after 2300 Hours for a period of 60 days from April 13.
