Hizb militant among two killed, arms seized in Kashmir

Srinagar, Apr 10 (UNI) Two people, including a militant, were killed while troops seized arms and ammunition in the Kashmir valley today, official sources said.

Security forces shot dead a Hizbul Mujahideen ultra, Fayaz Ahmad, after a brief encounter at Ahmadabad village in Kulgam area of south Kashmir's Anantnag district early today.

The encounter erupted after a search party was attacked by the militants, the sources said.

Police recovered the body of Sabzar Ahmad Gatoo from Bijbehara in south Kashmir today.

Security forces seized three kg of explosive material, five AK assault rifles, five UBGLs, 12 hand grenades and 70 detonators from a residential house at village Lolipora in central Kashmir district of Badgam today during a search operation, a defence spokesman said.
