HCL witnesses quantum jump in net profit during April to Dec. 05

New Delhi, Apr 10 (UNI) The public sector-Hindustan Copper Ltd (HCL), a unit under the Ministry of Mines, achieved Rs 304.78 crore turnover during the quarter ending December, 2005 against the target of Rs 193.54 crore, an official release said today.

The net profit earned during the quarter was Rs 27.39 crore as against the target of Rs 2.48 crore. Total net profit earned by the company during the period April to December 2005 was Rs 78.22 crore as against the target of Rs 4.75 crore, the release said.

The wire rod production was at 98 per cent of the target during the quarter. The company improved the production further through procurement of cathode from market as well as resorting to tolling activity. It boosted up its mining and production activities to achieve MoU targets during the financial year 2005-06, it added.
