Governor, CM greet people on Mahavir Jayanti and Id-E-Milad

Jammu, Apr 10 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Governor Lieutenant General (Retd) S K Sinha and Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad have greeted the people on the twin festivals of Mahavir Jayanti and Id-e-Milad-un-Nabi, birthday of prophet Mohammad.

In a message here today, General Sinha said the people should vow to promote humanity and usher an era of peace on the twin festivals tomorrow.

The Governor further said both Prophet Mohammed and Lord Mahavir preached brotherhood, equality and tolerance without any discrimination.

In a message the Chief Minister highlighted the great principles and teachings of Prophet Mohammad, which asked mankind to seek purity of heart and mind and live a life dedicated to the blessings of Almighty Allah.

He said the teaching of Lord Mahavir a have withstood the test of time. Mr Azad prayed for peace and prosperity of the people of the state on the occasion.
