Four die of suffocation in well
Nagpur, Apr 10 (UNI) Four persons died of suffocation in a 100-ft deep well, which was reportedly not cleansed for about a decade in the Shesh Nagar colony here.
Police today said - Prahlad Gajbhiye, who runs a school in Shesh Nagar, had employed a labourer yesterday to clean the well located in the school premises, as foul smell was emanating from it.
As soon as the labourer entered the well to clean it, he fell into the waters.
On hearing his cries, first Prahlad's son Raju jumped inside to save him and later Prahlad and Raju's friend Muzibur Rehman also jumped in to save the duo, but in vain. They also fell in the deep waters and died of suffocation.
Later, fire brigade personnel fished out the bodies and sent them for postmortem.
Even two fire brigade personnel, who had become unconscious while fishing out the dead bodies due to the foul smell, were rushed to hospital, police said and added that their condition was stable.
