Former sarpanch, panchayat secy slain

Jagdalpur (CG), Apr 10 (UNI) In two separate incidents, naxalites killed two persons, including a former sarpanch and a panchayat secretary last night in South Bastar region, police said today.

Naxalites barged into former sarpanch Kunwar Singh's house and stabbed him to death in Dantewada district's Bhairamgadh area.

More than 100 naxalites reached panchayat secretary Shyamsundar's house and gunned him down in Puegudi village.

Both the deceased were participating in anti-naxal 'Salwa Judum' campaign.
