Mumbai, Apr 10 (UNI) Empee Sugars&Chemicals Ltd has informed BSE that the company is on the verge of achieving its target of sugar cane crushing for the season 2005-2006.

Though the company's export obligation against import of raw sugar to the tune of 45,000 mts starts only from next year, it has obtained clearance from Sugar Directorate for export and it has also bagged an export order for 10,000 mts. The sale price of sugar is ruling high both nationally and internationally. Besides, thanks to good monsoon the mill's command area received last year, sugar cane plantation is expanded to additional new areas and the company expects to crush around 5 lakhs mts of cane in the next season.

As explained above, for the year 2006-07 the company has chalked out aggressive plans to increases its crushing capacity and cane cultivation area has been enlarged to ensure availability of sufficient cane. On the sugar cane front the company continues to introduce suitable improved variety of seed from the sugar cane Research station for its multiplication in three-tier seed nursery programme.

With its unstinted efforts on all fronts, the company has been able to sustain good results and with the above expansions, implementation of which has already taken off, the company is confident of achieving a very healthy growth both in its sales as well as profitability and thrive in the years to come, the release added.
