Dalmiya, three former BCCI officials granted anticipatory bail

Mumbai, Apr 10 (UNI) The Bombay High Court today granted anticipatory bail to former Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Jagmohan Dalmiya and three other ex-officials in the case of alleged misappropriation of Board funds to the tune of Rs 21 lakh.

Granting anticipatory bail to Dalmiya, S K Nair, Kishor Rungta and Jyoti Bajpayee, Justice V M Kanade directed each of the four former BCCI officials to furnish a sureity of Rs 25,000 and also to attend the office of the investigators on a notice, to be issued 72 hours in advance.

The court also directed the police to interrogate the the four accused during the office hours only.

Mr Dalmiya and the three ex-officials had moved the High Court for bail on March 28 and the court had then stayed their arrest till today.

In its March 23 order, the court, while hearing the anticipatory bail plea, had directed the petitioners to attend the office of Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Mumbai Police on March 27, 28, 29 and 31 and of the Kolkata police from April 3 to 5.

The four accused had been grilled by the sleuths of Mumbai Police EOW here and in Kolkatta in the past two weeks.
