Centre to seek six months' moratorium on sealing issue before SC
New Delhi, Apr 10 (UNI) After a meeting with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Union Urban Development Minister Jaipal Reddy today said the Centre would file a petition before the Supreme Court seeking six months' moratorium on the issue of sealing of commercial premises in the residential areas in the Capital.
A high-level delegation comprising Mr Reddy, Lt Governor B L Joshi, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and Minister of state Ajay Makenmet the Prime Minister this evening for more than one hour.
The Prime Minister was apprised of the situation in the Capital due to large-scale sealing of the premises in the residential areas.
The petition would be filed before the Apex Court in one or two days, said Mr Reddy after emerging from the meeting.
