Tributes paid to former chief minister Bansi Lal

Bhiwani, Apr 9 (UNI) Paying rich tributes to former Haryana Chief Minister late Ch. Bansi Lal, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today hailed the veteran leader as the architect of the modern Haryana.

''When Haryana was carved out of Punjab as a separate state in 1966, at that time everybody pondered how the state would suffice with limited resources. Haryana had become a prosperous state only due to the solid foundation laid by Ch Bansi Lal,'' the Chief Minister said at the Rasam Pagri ceremony here of the veteran leader.

During his chief ministership all the villages of the state were connected with metalled roads and provided with electricity.

Mr Hooda said the present government would follow in his footsteps to make Haryana a leading state in the next four years.
