New born baby dies after getting trapped inside toilet pot

Vadodara, Apr 9 (UNI) In a tragic incident, a newly born baby, who was accidentally delivered by his mother in the toilet, died after it was trapped upside down in the Indian-style toilet pot.

Family sources today said the expectant mother of the baby, Sonu Vanjara, a resident of Shreyapark society here, was answering nature's call yesterday when she went into sudden labour, delivering the baby in the toilet pot. Before she could realise she had delivered the baby and call for help, the baby slipped into the toilet pot upside down.

When all attempts to rescue the baby failed, they summoned the fire brigade personnel, who managed to rescue the baby after they broke the pot with a sophisticated electronic device. However, the baby died despite attempts by a local gynaecologist present on the spot, to save him, the family members added.
