Ichalkaranji, Maharashtra, Apr 9 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh today said a budgetary provision of Rs 75 crore would be made in the state government's supplementary budget for powerloom industry in June.

Talking to reporters here after attending the three inaugural functions of the Ichalkaranji Textile Development Cluster Scheme, Rajaram stadium and Vyankoba wrestling arena, Mr Deshmukh said the package for the year 2005-2006 was delayed due to non-availability of resolutions from the powerloom sector before March 31, 2006.

State Cooperative Minister Patangrao Kadam presided over all the three functions.

He said the state government has already decided to set-up some 40 special economic zones in Maharashtra, in which no taxes will be imposed on any textile products and these units will be hundred per cent export-oriented units. The garment park to be set-up at the Shahu mill premises here is one of them, he added.

State Finance Minister Jayant Patil, Marketing Minister Harshwardhan Patil, former state minister and sitting Congress MLA Prakash Awade also spoke on the occasion.
