First women's magazine by Mirwaiz's wife launched

Srinagar, Apr 9: 'She', the first women's magazine from Kashmir, hit the stands today.

Edited by Sheeba Masoodi, wife of moderate Hurriyat Conference Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and Saima Farhad, the magazine will highlight problems related to the Kashmiri women.

At the launch here, Ms Farhad said the main objective behind coming up with such a magazine was to address the issues of women in the society.

''No religious or political issues will be discussed in She. Our aim is to create awareness among the Kashmiri women about their rights,'' she added.

The first issue of the magazine was released by Kashmir University Vice Chancellor Prof Abdul Wahid Qureshi here at a function.
